224 Brigade conducted a Special Coordinating Conference on dengue prevention on 18 June 2018 at the Headquarters of 24 SLNG Battalion. The aim of this Coordinating Conference is to take preventive measures and educate the public on the rapidly spreading Dengue menace. General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara, took the initiative in this regard.
During this conference, it was decided to conduct Dengue Prevention Campaigns in the areas of Muthur, Thoppur, Sampur and Kinniya under the supervision of the government authorities of the respective areas, throughout a period of one week commencing from 23 June. Commander 224 Brigade, Colonel E A P Ediriweera, MOH Muthur Dr Y Jasmy, MOH Thoppur Dr QR Dev, Police officers, Government Officials, Civil Authorities and Moulavis of Muthur area participated in this conference.
