The Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) conducted an awareness programme on ‘impact of social media & cyber crimes’ at the Security Forces Headquarters - East premises on 05 April 2018.
Participants were educated on basic precautions to protect themselves from the cybercrimes, maintaining their privacy in popular social networking websites including Facebook, Viber, WhatsApp, etc, the adverse impacts of posting statements propagating hatred, sharing sensitive security information and uploading unauthorized photos. Further, the session also covered the legal implications against military personnel who are bounded by both civil and military law when engaging in unacceptable conducts through social media.
Representing the under command formations of the Security Forces East, 50 Officers and 170 Other Ranks assembled for the lecture.
