Major General G P P Kulatilaka ndc

Major General Priyanga Kulatilakandc, is the proud son of Mr. Gunamuni Kulatilakaand Mrs. OlupathageIrine. He was born in Kaluthara and is a distinguished alumnus of Vidyarathna College, Horana, where he began building the foundation for a remarkable career in military service.

His journey in the Sri Lanka Army commenced on 09 December 1991 when he enlisted in the Regular Force. He joined Intake SC3 at the Sri Lanka Military Academy - Diyathalawa and, upon completion of his basic military training atSri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) in Diyatalawa, he was commissioned on 19 December 1992. He was subsequently posted to the Gajaba Regiment Later, in response to the requirements of the Sri Lanka Army, he joined the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, the youngest regiment in the Sri Lanka Army in 2007.

Throughout his illustrious military career, Major General Priyanga Kulatilaka has held numerous key commands, staff, and instructional appointments in both Gajaba Regiment and Mechanized Infantry Regiment demonstrating outstanding leadership and operational expertise. He has actively participated in multiple military operations across the country, gaining extensive experience in counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations.

He notably served as the Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Mechanized Infantry Regiment, and later became the Deputy General Officer Commanding (DY GOC) of the 64 and 24 Infantry Divisions. Currently, he holds the positions of:
