AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON AWARDING NVQ CERTIFICATES TO SOLDIERS INVOLVED IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
A considerable number of soldiers who are capable in trades such as plumbing, masonry, electrics, carpentry etc in the Sri Lanka Army are presently employed for national development projects and the experience gained by the soldiers holds beneficial to the individual in particular and the organization in general. Hence, awarding NVQ certificate as paper qualification in the construction field for the soldiers concerned should take them a long way after their retirement from the Army.\r\n\r\nIn view of that, as per the instructions of the Comd of the Army, an awareness programme was conducted at SF HQ (East) under the guidance of Comd SF (East) Maj Gen HWSDB Pananwala RSP ndu to empower the stakeholders on awarding NVQ certificates in collaboration with Polonnaruwa Branch of National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) on 21 November 2017.\r\n\r\nMr. UGN Sameera District manager – NAITA, Mr. KAH Keenvina, Training Officer NAITA 23 Officers, 25 SNCOs participated for the event.\r\n
