NEW SF-EAST COMMANDER PAYS FIELD VISIT TO 23 DIVISION
Major General H W S D B Pananwala RSP ndu, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - East (SF-E) made his maiden visit to the Headquarters 23 Division on Wednesday (08).\r\n\r\nOn the arrival of the visiting Commander SF-E at the 23 Division Headquarters, he was received by Brigadier B V D P Abeynayake USP ndu, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 23 Division before he was accorded a Guard Turn Out at the main entrance.\r\n\r\nAfterwards, he was accorded a Guard of Honour by troops of the 4 GW of the 23 Division in conformity with military traditions. To mark the vsit, the SF-E Commander was then invited to plant a ‘mango’ sapling inside the 23 Divisional Headquarters premises.\r\n\r\nThereafter, GOC 23 Div briefed on operational and administrative aspects as well as welfare facilities of the troops where the Brigade Commanders and all Battalion Commanders of the AOR were present. The Comd SF (East) emphasized the importance of understanding the context of present post conflict environment and insisted engaging troops in community-related activities to build the connectivity across the ethnic groups. Subsequently, he participated for an all ranks tea and concluded the proceedings leaving a complementary remarks on the visitors’ book. \r\n\r\nLater, the Comd SF (East) visited the upcoming Ammo dump site to inspect the progress and instructed on further enhancement to expedite the progress.\r\n
