The newly appointed Commander Security Force East Major General H.W.S.D.B Pananwala RSP ndu assumed duties on Thursday (02) morning at his office at the Security Force Headquarters East.\r\n\r\nThe new Commander was accorded a Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour by soldiers of 7 Field Engineers on his arrival at the premises. He lit the traditional oil lamp and attended to religious rituals of all four major denominations before he initialed the first document as symbolic commencement of his duties. \r\n\r\nAfter assuming the duties, newly appointed Commander planted a \'Mango\' sapling at the premises, before addressing the troops. Consequently, the Comd SF (E) participated for an all ranks tea along with the GOCs, Comd FMA (E) Bde Comds, all Bn Comds and entire staff of SF HQ (E).\r\n\r\nBefore being appointed as the Commander SF East, he served as the General Officer Commanding 23 Division. \r\n\r\n
