TROOPS OF 24 DIVISION CONSTRUCT A PILGRIMS REST AT ARANTHALAWA TEMPLE
His Excellency the President declared open a Pilgrims Rest for devotees at Aranthalawa temple - Ampara. In response to a request made by Ven Kirindiwela Somarathana Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the temple from Comd of the Army, this project was totally carried out by the troops of 24 Div.With the guidance of Comd SF (East) Major General Nandana Senadeera WWV RWP RSP USP ndu, GOC - 24 Division Major General Mahinda Mudalige RWP RSP ndu supervised the construction of this 122’ x 42 ‘ building carried out with the untiring efforts of ESR and 16 SLNG troops for more than a period of one year. Several Senior Ministers, government dignitaries, Senior Officers from Tri Services were participated for the event.
