VESAK ZONE ORGANIZED BY SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST) FASCINATES WELIKANDA CITY
In line with the United Nations Day of Vesak, SF HQ (E) organized a series of activities on account of commemorating that the Buddha was Born, attained Enlightenment and Passing away at the age of 80 on Vesak Full Moon Poya Day. \r\n\r\nThe Incumbent Thero of Buddhist Centre Welikanda, Ven Delwita Meththalankara Thero conducted a Bodhi Pooja Programme where the Comd SF (E) Maj Gen Nandana Senadeera WWV RWP RSP USP ndu, Officers and Other Ranks serving at the Headquarters were in attendance. A Vesak Zone with a colourful exhibition of Vesak lanterns that has been organized by the troops of the Headquarters SF (E) was opened by the Comd SF (E). It was followed by a “Belimal Dansela” for the public. A large number of civilians representing all communities participated for the events conducted in Welikanda City\r\n
