23 DIVISION SUCCESSFULLY TERMINATED THE REALITY BASED SELF DEFENCE COURSE NO 02
Reality Based Self Defence (RBSD) or Reality Based Martial Arts refer to systems of self defence that focus exclusively on reality based self defence scenarios and conditions. Unlike mixed martial arts and traditional martial arts styles like Karate, reality based self defence is not a hobby or sport and it does not represent tournaments or sports combat competitions. It\'s all about learning how to fight for self defence in an actual threatened scenarios. \r\n\r\n23 Division conducted a RBSD Course No 02 with the able assistance of 1 CR, which consisted with 44 working days. 04 x Officers and 69 x Other Ranks participated for the course. The graduation ceremony of the course was held on 09 May 2017 with the participation of General Officer Commanding 23 Division Maj Gen Dammika Pananwala RSP ndu, Commander FMA(E) Maj Gen Manoj Mudannayake RSP USP , Brigade Commanders of 231 and 233 Brigades, Senior Staff Officers of SF HQ (E) and 23 Div, Commanding Officer 1 CR and all Commanding Officers of the AOR .\r\n
