BEFORE LEAVING THE EASTERN THEATRE, COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) VISITS UNDER COMMAND DIVISIONS AND FORWARD MAINTENANCE AREA (EAST)
Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces (East) marked his last official visit to under command Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area - (East) on 25 and 26 March 2017 before the relinquishment of his tenure. \r\nInitially, the Comd SF (E) visited FMA – (E), HQ 22 and 23 Divs on 25 March and on the following day he made a visit to HQ 24 Div. During the visits, Comd SF (E) was accorded with Guard Turnouts at the entrances of all respective venues and warmly welcomed by all the GOCs and Comd FMA (E) with military customs and traditions. The Commander addressed the troops of all the Divs and FMA (E) and appreciated the services rendered by all ranks encouraging them to continue to offer their service effectively in future as well. At the end of all the visits, Comd SF (E) signed the visitors\' books as an aide memoire and plaques were presented to him by all GOCs’ and Comd FMA (E).\r\nGOC 22 Div, Maj Gen Aruna Jayasekara WWV RWP RSP ndu psc, GOC 23 Div, Maj Gen Dammika Pananwala RSP ndu, Comd FMA (E), Maj Gen Manoj Mudannayake RSP and GOC 24 Div, Brig Mahinda Mudalige RWP RSP ndu welcomed and ushered the Comd SF (E) at their respective headquarters.\r\nConsequent to the proceedings of the Divisions, Comd SF (E) visited Ven Ahungalle Sri Seelavisuddi Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Rangiri Ulpataha Rajamaha Viharaya and on 25 Mar 2017 he had a call on with Mr. Austin Fernando, the Governor of Eastern Province to formally inform his departure. Comd SF (E) culminated the two day visit by meeting the Bishop of Batticaloa, Most Rev Dr Joseph Ponniah along with the dignitaries representing all communities
