The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, visited 3 (V) MIC deployed in Girithale on 15 March 2017. On arrival at the 3 (V) MIC Headquarters, the Commander Security Forces (East) was welcomed by Commanding Officer, Major WMJK Karunaratne RSP Isc, and honoured with a Guard Turnout in accordance with military formalities and thereafter all the officers of the battalion were introduced to the Comd SF (E) by CO. Consequent to the planting of a Mango sapling to mark the visit of the Comd SF (E), the newly constructed cook house was declared open by him. The Comd SF (E) addressed the troops and CO conducted comprehensive briefing on role and tasks, present deployment and the existing intelligence situation under his area of purview. After the briefing, Comd SF (E) visited the camp premises and participated in an all ranks lunch concluding the proceedings.
