VISIT OF COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) TO BATTALIONS DEPLOYED IN 24 DIV AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces (East) visited the battalions under command to 24 Division in Ampara district on 15th and 16th February 2017.\r\nOn arrival at the HQ 23rd Bn of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 15 February 2017, the Comd, SF (E) was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer and honoured with a Guard Turnout in accordance with military formalities at the main entrance. Subsequently, the Comd SF (E) had a discussion with all Officers of 23 SLSR with a view to identify their grievances, difficulties and their views on various operational and other administrative matters.\r\nAfterwards, the Comd SF (E) called at the HQ 12th Bn of Sri Lanka National Guard and attended an all ranks lunch at the ORs’ Mess. After the lunch, he had a discussion with all Officers of 12 SLNG and made various arrangements for some of the shortcomings in the Bn. \r\nNext day, the Comd SF (E) visited the HQs of 11th and 16th Bns of Sri Lanka National Guard. Comd, SF (E) had discussions with all Offrs at both Bns and identified their requirements and living standards of Offrs / ORs. During his stay at 16 SLNG, the newly constructed Other Ranks Mess was declared open by him. Brig Mahinda Mudaligae RWP RSP ndu, GOC 24 Div, Comds 241 and 242 Bdes also accompanied the Comd SF (E). The proceedings of this special visit at 24 Division Area of Responsibility concluded with the visits to the Buddhist Temple in Akkaraipattu , Namalthalawa snd Kalmunai by the Comd SF (E). \r\n
