23 DIVISION CONDUCTED REALITY BASED SELF DEFENCE COURSE
\r\n1. Reality Based Self Defence (RBSD) or Reality Based Martial Arts refer to systems of self defence that focus exclusively on reality based self defence scenarios and conditions. Unlike mixed martial arts and traditional martial arts styles like Karate, reality based self defence is neither a hobby nor a sport which represents tournaments of sport combat competitions. It\'s all about learning how to fight.\r\n\r\n2. 23 Division conducted a RBSD course with the assistance of 1 CR, and the duration of the training was 30 working days. 03 x Officers and 52 x Other Ranks participated the course. The graduation ceremony of the course was held on 29 Jan 2017 with the participation of Commander Security Forces(East), Major General DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, as the Chief Guest. General Officer Commanding of 23 Division, Brigade Commanders of 231, 232 and 233 Brigades, all Commanding Officers of the AOR, Commanding Officer of SLNS – Kashyapa and Commanding Officer of SLAF Base - Batticaloa graced the occasion.\r\n\r\n
