SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST) GREETS THE NEW YEAR
Dawn of the New Year – 2017 was marked traditionally at Security Force Headquarters (East) by having an all ranks tea on Sunday 01 Jan 2017 morning with the presence of Maj Gen Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, Comd SF (E). Meanwhile a cross section of Officers and ORs attended a special pooja at Somawathiya RajamahaViharaya in the evening.\r\n\r\nCommencement of work for the New Year took place right in front of the SFHQ building at 0900 hrs on 02 January 2017. The Chief Guest of the occasion, Maj Gen Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, Comd SF (E) hoisted the National Flag and inaugurated the event followed by reciting of National Anthem, Army song and two minutes silence. Delivering of service oath afterwards added glamour to the occasion. With the address of Comd SF (E) the day’s proceedings came to an end. All Officers and ORs of SFHQ (East) were present on the occasion.\r\n\r\nSubsequently, Commander SF (E) visited the Army Base Hospital - Minneriya with a view of inquiring into the well-being of Army inmates receiving treatment in the hospital and he attentively listened to the patients, confined to bed and inquired into their health and other requirements. \r\n\r\n
