24 Division organized a Christmas Carol Programme along with St Ignatius Church at Ampara from 1900 hrs to 2130 hrs on 27 December 2016 to enhance the relationship between military and the civilians. Most Rev Fr Dr Cletus C Perera, Bishop of Rathnapura, Thusitha P Wanigasinghe - District Secretary Ampara, GOC 23 Div, Comd FMA (E), Snr officers of the Army, Air Force, Police and a large gathering of civilians participated the event and Comd SF (East) Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc was the chief guest. \r\nA brief service conducted by Ampara Parish Priest Rev Fr Bastian Pillai and his Christmas message added the glamour to the occasion.Sri Lanka Army Orchestra provided music for the programme and Army dancing Troupe attracted the whole audience by their excellent performances. Further, events presented by school children from Kalmunai, Kallar, Sorikalmunai, Akkaraipattu, Inginiyagala, and Ampara parishes also coloured the Christmas spirit. \r\nAt the end of the programme gifts were presented to all children\'s.
