COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) DECLARED OPEN NEWLY BUILT BUDDHIST SHRINE ROOM AT JAYABODHI VIHARAYA, JAYANTHIGAMA, KANTHALE
On an invitation of the Chief Incumbent of Jayabodhi Viharaya, Jayanthipura, Kantale, Ven Nawagamuwe Gnanawisuddhi Thero, the Comd SF (E) declared open a newly constructed Shrine Room of the temple and unveiled the new Buddha Statue at an auspicious time on 25 November 2016 amidst large gathering of Buddhist devotees.\r\n\r\nConsequent, to the opening ceremony, Comd SF (E) participated a small ceremony attended by members of Maha Sanga and devotees headed by Ven Kuruwita Gnanananda Thero the Chief Incumbent of North and Eastern Provinces.\r\n\r\nDuring the ceremony, the members of the Maha Sanga appreciated the contribution made by the Comd SF (E) by introducing the donor, Mrs. Yamuna Kumari Devapriya Batagolla residing in the UK.\r\n\r\nThe newly constructed shrine room costed about 9.5 million. It was interesting to observe that, the Comd SF (E) himself had laid the foundation stone for the newly constructed Shrine Room when he was serving as the Comd 222 Bde, Kantale in year 2011.\r\n\r\nSeveral prominent Buddhist monks attended the ceremony and a large gathering of Buddhist people in the area were present at the occasion. later, Comd SF (E) visited the Chief Incumbents of Sri Waddanaramaya, Dehiwatta and Neela Maha Viharaya, Neelapola and discussed matters related to their difficulties and requirements.\r\n
