\r\n1. 23 Division celebrated the 26th anniversary of the Division with a series of events commencing with a Blood Donation programme on 20 July 2016 at the Division HQ Punani. More than 200 x Officers/Other Ranks participated for the event and General Hospital, Batticaloa facilitated the programme.\r\n\r\n2. An all night Pirith Chanting was conducted on 21 July 2016 followed by the “Heel Danaya” on following day morning.\r\n\r\n3. Thereafter a tree planting programme was launched on 22 July 2016 and 100 jack saplings were planted in the 23 Division camp premises. On the same day a newly constructed house in Kalkudah area was donated to a deserving family. The financial assistance for the newly built house was given by Mr. Rod Thambiah in Australia.\r\n\r\n4. A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour were accorded to the GOC, 23 Division on 23 July 2016 and thereafter an All Ranks Lunch was also held. The celebrations of the 26th anniversary concluded with a musical show at the 23 Division premises on the 23 July night. \r\n \r\n
