4500 Packs of school amenities and sleeping bags were distributed among the students of low income families in Thamankaduwa, Lankapura, Hingurakgoda, Vilayaya, Welikanda and Vakarei areas with the sponsorship of Rotary Club, Kelaniya and \"Around the World Sleeping Children Organization\" in Canada, covering the area of Security Force (East). 4500 students selected from 147 schools in Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa districts were benefited at this programme.\r\nThis programme was coordinated by Security Force Headquarters (East) and to appreciate the contribution of Rotary Club and \"Around the World Sleeping Children Organization\" in Canada, Mr. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Secretary of Defence and Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Forces (East) participated for the said programme held at Welikanda Maha Vidyalaya on 02 October 2015.
