Commander of the Army Visit Security Force-East Area
Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army visited the Security Force Headquarters-East area on 27th January 2014. Initially he visited Security Force Headquarters-East at Welikanda, Where he was received by Major General Lal Perera, Commander, Security Force East. A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour was presented by Security Force Headquarters-East troops to the Commander of the Army at Security Force Headquarters-East Welikanda. A Tree planting & Group Photograph also taken place at Force Headquarters-East premises. Commander of the army addressed a cross section of the officers and soldiers under command to the Security Force Headquarters-East.
Secondly Commander opened a newly-constructed "Coral Cove Retreat" At Kayankerni. A holiday resort constructed by Security Force-East.
Thirdly commander visited Thoppigala, in 23 Division area and addressed a cross section of the officers and soldiers under command to the 23 Division.
Finally commander opened the newly constriction 24 Division Headquarters at Malwatte. Commander addressed a cross section of the officers and soldiers under command to the 24 Division at Malwatte prior to his departure to Colombo.
