  • 20TH BATTALION OF THE GAJABA REGIMENT ORGANIZES BLOOD DONATION PROGRAMME

    Under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, the civil-military activities in the Eastern theatre were conducted by the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment under the command of the 221 Infantry Brigade. They organized the blood donation programme on 26 May 2025.

    Security Forces Headquarters (East) bid farewell to its 16th Regimental Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer I T.M.G.G.S.K. Thennakoon RSP USP, on 24th May 2025, upon his retirement after more than 22 years of dedicated service in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army.

    Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC psc, and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, Under part of civil-military cooperation program, the 9th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, operating under the 222 Infantry Brigade, laid the foundation stone for a new house for a low-income family residing in Sumedhankarapura, Seruwila, in the Trincomalee District.

    Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC psc, and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, the 12th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard, under the 232 Infantry Brigade, laid the foundation stone for a new bathroom and latrine complex at Vivekananda Girls’ Home in Valachchenai. This initiative is part of ongoing civil-military cooperation activities aimed at improving community welfare.

  • Beach Cleaning Program by 241 Infantry Brigade

    Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC, psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 23 Infantry Division, the 241 Infantry Brigade conducted a beach cleaning program on 10 May 2025. As part of this initiative, nine concrete waste containers were installed for the systematic disposal of the large amount of garbage collected daily at the Thambatta Beach in Akkaraipattu. This effort was carried out in collaboration with the Alayadiwembu Divisional Secretariat and the Alayadiwembu Pradeshiya Sabha.

  • HOLDING A VESAK LANTERN EXHIBITION

    A rotating lantern display was held from 12th May 2025 to 14th May 2025 to mark the 2025 Vesak Poya. A large number of people from the area came for this, creating a festive and spiritual atmosphere throughout the area. It was an attractive and wellorganized program held in the Thirukkovil area recently, which reflected the strong bond between the army and the local community. It not only celebrated the importance of the Vesak festival, but also promoted unity, peace, coexistence and goodwill.
