A coordinating conference, guided by the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division, Major General K W Jayaweera USP psc, took place at the Main Mosque in Nintavur with the Divisional Secretary of Nintavur and the Commander of the 241 Infantry Brigade. The meeting focused on organising the collection of essential relief items for those affected by adverse weather across the country. It was agreed to commit 5,000 kg of rice, with additional items to be gathered as required. Part of the proceedings, a quantity of 10 packs of rice (5 kg) was formally and symbolically handed over.
