WORKSHOP ON \"SUCCESSFUL FAMILY LIFE AND HEALTH\" FOR SLAWC TPS IN SF (E) AOR
A workshop on \"Successful family life and health\" meant to educate the troops on the importance of happy life and adhering to good health practices in day to day life, was held at SF HQ (E) for the troops of 3 (V) SLAWC and 5 (V) SLAWC on 29 June 2017.\r\nWith the initiation of the Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Nandana Senadeera WWV RWP RSP USP ndu, a Child Protection Officer Mr. Sujith Jayarathne educated the women soldiers on the rights of children and the domestic violence as the first session of the workshop. Then the audience got the opportunity to attend to a valuable lecture on personal hygiene and venereal diseases conducted by a Consultant of Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, Dr. H P Lalith Priyanka. Concluding the programme, Psychiatric and Counselor Mrs. Thilakshi Piyathilaka conducted a counseling session to educate the ladies how to negotiate problems faced in day to day life. During this program, the resource persons related their personal/working experience to explain how best the participants could create a joyful family life, amidst of modern and busy life schedule that threatens to overwhelm them. \r\nA number of Officers and ORs of two Battalions attended the workshop which was very educative, interesting and thought provoking.\r\n
