WORKSHOP FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY ON IHL AND CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES AT SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTER (EAST).
Security Forces Headquarters(East) conducted a workshop for the members of Sri Lanka Army on IHL and contemporary challenges on 25 and 26 April 2016, under the direction of Directorate of Human Rights & Humanitarian Law and International Committee of the Red Cross . Opening address was conducted by General Officer Commanding of 23 Division Major General D D U K Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc and Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (East) Brigadier D M S Dissanayake WWV RWP RSP USP.was also present for the occasion .\r\nThe workshop was conducted by Brigadier General (R) Lloyd Gillett OBE, assumed the appointment of Regional Delegate to the Armed and Security Force of Pakistan and Sri Lanka in November 2014.BG (R) Gillett is the main point of contact between the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Armed and Security Forces of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. His work involves promoting International Humanitarian Law and Networking with the Armed and Security Forces of Pakistan and Sri Lanka.\r\n
