A high risk of rabies spreading among Army troops and the public was mitigated through a vaccination campaign targeting dogs and cats roaming freely around the 232 Infantry Brigade Headquarters and 12 Sri Lanka National Guard camp premises.
This initiative was conducted under the instructions of Brigadier R.P.S Prasad RWP RSP USP, Commander of the 232 Infantry Brigade, and 112 dogs and cats in the Pulipanchikal, Iralakulam, and Thoppigala areas were vaccinated during the program.
Three officials from the Public Health Office participated in this effort.
