TWO SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED EMPOWERING FUTURE LEADERS OF THE SOCIETY

Under the guidance and initiative of Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander of Security Forces (East), an event was organized to recognize academic excellence and provide scholarships for two exceptional students who excelled in the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. The ceremony took place on 5 April 2024 at the Security Forces Headquarters East.

Mr. Mevan Jayathilake a known philanthropist generously donated the required funds for the two scholarships that would guarantee the continuous education for two talented students. The recipients of these scholarships were Master MK Kavishka Deshan Ariyarathne from Susirigama Primary School, Polonnaruwa, who achieved an impressive 162 marks, and Master RPDSS Savindi Wickramasinghe from Alawakubura Maha Vidyalaya, Polonnaruwa, who achieved 150 marks for the grade 5 scholarship exam.

Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander of Security Forces (East) graced as the Chief Guest. Brigadier AHAD Ariyasena RWP RSP USP psc, the Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces (East) along with senior officers, teachers, and parents, also participated in the event.
