\r\nThe Polonnaruwa Branch of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society conducted a two day First Aid awareness program at SF HQ (E) on 18 – 19 February 2017. \r\n45 Other Ranks representing the under command battalions of SF (E) were educated on the types of measures that need to be taken during an accident, injury or wounds and how the casualties can be treated prior to moving them towards a hospital or for a medical facility.\r\nThis awareness program marked the commencement of a series of such education programmes scheduled to be held in SF (E) by Sri Lanka Red Cross in order to educate and make aware the Army personnel on life saving measures.\r\nChairman - SLRCS Polonnaruwa Mr. Gamini Nandakumara, Branch Executive Officer - Mrs. Samanthi Wijekoon , Mr. Senaka Randeniya and Mr. Jayalal Jayawardhane were the resource personnel who actively conducted the two day session.\r\n
