TROOPS DEPLOYMENT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGED BY RECENT ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

With the request of the Department of Railways and under the direction of the Commander Security Force (East) Major General J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, a contingent of 02 × 50 troops from the 24 Infantry Division (14 SLSR and 18 VIR) was deployed on 07 December 2025. Their task was the reconstruction of the railway infrastructure damaged by recent flooding.Subsequently, Commander Security Force (East) conducted a field visit to inspect the ongoing reconstruction work on the section between Gallalla and Manampitiya.
