TROOPS OF 233 INFANTRY BRIGADE ORGANIZED AND CONDUCTED AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR FOR THE CHILDREN

On the concept of the Commander, Security Forces (East) Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, directions of the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Major General Shewanth Kulatunge and close supervision of the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Wasantha Hewage, troops of 233 Infantry Brigade organized and conducted an educational tour for the Children of “Ran Tharu” Preschool – Shalawaththa, Unagalawehera, Hingurakgoda.

The programme conducted on 24 September 2022 in parallel with the “World Children’s day.” For this programme 43 Preschool Children, 40 Parents and 02 Preschool Teachers were participated. During the tour they have visited Paper Mill at Valachchenai, Sallathivu Beach, Lankapatuna temple and Seruwila Temple.

Civil Affairs Officer, Other Rankers from 233 Infantry Brigade and “calypso” music team of 6 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment joined with the event and transport requirement was facilitated by the HQ 23 Infantry Division. Meals and other essential requirements were provided by the 233 Infantry Brigade.
