TROOPS OF THE 221 INFANTRY BRIGADE DONATED SCHOOL ACCESSORIES

According to the concept of the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, and supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama, instruction of Brigade Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Sujeewa Rathnayake, 221 Infantry Brigade has organized school accessories and essentials donation programme to the got through students of grade five scholarship examination at Sinhala Central Collage - Trincomalee on Monday (27 February).

A total worth of 1.5 lakh school accessories and essentials has been distributed among 25 students of the school auditorium. The donation programme has been conducted under the sponsorship of the Dr. Nadith Kaushalya, Chief Executive Officer of the “United Kingdom Chestnut Foundation” in the United Kingdom, and coordinated the donor by Lieutenant Thusitha Thilakarathna, Staff Officer III, 221 Infantry Brigade.

Lieutenant Colonel Kamal Jayaweera, Civil Affairs Officer, 221 Infantry Brigade, grace the occasion as a chief guest and with Officers and other ranks of 221 Infantry Brigade participated in the donation programme and represented Dr. Nadith Kaushalya, Mrs. Nirosha Surangi Thilakarathna also attended to the programme. The principal and teaching staff with the Sinhala Central College students and the students' parents were present on occasion.
