TROOPS OF 22 DIVISION ASSIST A KOVIL POOJA

The troops of 22 Division extended their fullest support to conduct the annual Kovil Pooja at Sri Thirukkai Ambal Thevasthanam Hindu Temple, Orr´s Hill Trincomalee on Tuesday (19). Prior to the event, the troops conducted a Shrarmadana Campign to clear the surrounding of the Kovil premises together with devotees in the area.

The Coordinating assistance was provided under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Nevil Weerasinghe. Troops provided refreshments for more than 350 devotees during the ceremony.

The Chief Priest, Siriasiri Srikantha Kurukkal and devotees extended their gratitude for the Army and appreciated the assistance provided to make the religious ceremony a success.

General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Nevil Weerasinghe, Col Coord 22 Division Lt Col Lalith Amunugama, CAO 22 Division Lt Col Rohana Gamage, Other Ranks and a large gathering of civilians in the area participated in the religious programme.
