TROOP OF SECURITY FORCES - EAST HELPS ORGANIZE ‘’KATINA CHEEWARA POOJA” IN THE “KADAWATHMADUWA ANCIENT TEMPLE” AT WELIKANDA

The troops of Security Force Headquarters - East, assisted Mahasanga to organize the annual “Katina cheewara Pinkama” with a string of commemorative religious observances activities, during 01, 06 November in the kadawathmaduwa ancient temple at welikanda, On the directions of Commander, Security Forces – East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena.

Beginning in the evening on 01st Novembera special “Bodhi Puja Pinkama” was held at the kadawathmaduwa ancient temple, after that “Katina cheewara” in a Colorful procession bring to the Camp premises and followed by in vocation of blessings on the troops of SFHQ-(E) by Chief Prelate of Kadawathamaduwa ancient temple, venerable Idanpitiye Wajiralankara thero. In the evening on 02nd November, Devotees of villages with troops Security Force Headquarters - East “Katina Cheewara” in a procession returned to the temple.

Furthermore, in the Evening on 06th November troops took part in the “Katina Cheewara” procession with villages devotees and the subsequent “Bodhi Pooja” programmed, conducted at the temple premises after that a ‘Pirith’ chanting ceremony during the Night until the next morning got underway, “Morning alms” in the following Morning, plus offered of Meals to all attending the ceremony. Commander, Security Forces – East attended the ‘Pirith’ chanting and the Katina Cheewara Poojaas the Chief Guest at the invitation of the Chief Prelate of Kadawathamaduwa ancient temple, Venerable Idanpitiye Wajiralankara thero. And also, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and the members of civil staff, serving at Security Force Headquarters - East, devotees of villages were participated in the ceremonies.
