SUBMITTING THE DETAILS OF THE WELFARE PROGRAMS CONDUCTED IN INTEGRATION WITH THE 76TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

Considering the School stationery item for rural School Students, the 231 Infantry Brigade distributed School stationery items among 233 School Students residing in Polonnaruwa district, Dimbulagala area on Saturday (21 Dec 2024) at theVijaya Parackrama Kanishta Vidyalaya Kalukale.

Major General Nilantha Premaratne RSP USP psc, the Commander, Security Forces - East figured out the basic needs and launched this programme with his conceptual guidance. The event was organized under the supervision of Major General Priyantha Kariyawasam, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division. The event was successfully conducted by the Brigadier Anura Malandeniya RSP, the Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade with the support by Major Sanjaya Ranasinghe RWP RSP USP, Commanding Officer, 12 Battalion the Gemunu Watch and his troops.

For the success of this event sponsored by the Polonnaruwa Regional Representative of the Wide Vision Foundation, Mr M A Dayarathna, The Project Director of the Wide Vision Foundation, Mr Indika Silva and member of the Wide Vision Foundation, Mr. Sehan Dananjaya and other members. Cultural dances performed by Vijaya Parackrama Kanista Vidyalaya, Kalukale students enhance the glamour of the event. Moreover, the School Students were provided the snack packs and lunch.

Major General Priyantha Kariyawasam the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Brigadier Anura Malandeniya RSP, the Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade, Staff Officers of 23 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, Commanding Officer, and troops of 12 Battalion the Gemunu Watch took part of the event. In addition to this, Assistant Divisional Secretary, Dimbulagala, Mrs. Madushika Patabandige, and Other invitees also participated to the event.
