Sri Lanka Methodist Community Appreciates the Services of the Commander Security Forces - East

Having identified the extraordinary contributions made by Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander Security Forces - East, during his tenure, the Sri Lanka Methodist Community, organized a felicitation ceremony at the Methodist Church, Kalmunei on 11 April 2024. This function was organized by Methodist Dharma Sabhawa with co-ordination by Honor Rev. Ebenezer Joseph, Bishop of Methodist Church of Sri Lanka.

During the ceremony, the role played by Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG as the Commander Security Forces - East, was greatly appreciated. Delivering the felicitation speech, the Bishop highly appreciated the noble project - “Reconciliation through Language”, which was implemented under the conceptual layout of Commander Security Forces - East.

Further, the project benefited both Sinhala and Tamil students by assisting them to learn and respect another language and culture. The Bishop also admired his humane qualities and the strong notion of standing together as one nation. In recognition of his invaluable services, a souvenir was also presented.

This event was conducted with the participation of Senior Officers of the Security Forces Headquarters - East, Christian clergies, and Christian Disciples of Christ and civil invitees of the area.
