As per the concept of the Commander 243 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier KMUP Kalupahana USP psc, with the aim of developing cooperation between officers and other ranks, a softball cricket tournament was held at 243 Infantry Brigade Headquarters on 05 June 2025 between the Infantry Brigade Headquarters and the under command battalions. 16 Sri Lanka National Guard emerged as champions of the tournament, while the 243 Infantry Brigade Headquarters team secured the runner-up position. Certificates and prizes were given to the officers and other ranks who showed outstanding performance in the tournament and the award for the best batsman of the match and the hero of the tournament was received by C/Sgt Silva ADC RSP - 243 Infantry Brigade. The award for the best catcher was won by L/Cpl Gunasekara HAIP - 11 (v) SLSR, while the award for the best bowler of the tournament was won by WOII Priyadarshana WAN - 16 SLNG.
