The Security Forces Headquarters (East) celebrated its 21st Anniversary at the Security Forces Headquarters, under the leadership of Major General S A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, Commander of Security Forces (East) on 31 October 2024.
Coinciding with the 21stAnniversary there were series of religious activities including Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic and Christian to evoke blessings on all those serving in the SF(E) AOR. The highlight of those events was the alms giving accorded to 25 monks at the SFHQ (East). These religious events provided a moment of spiritual reflection and gratitude, remembering the fallen war heroes while reminding the soldiers, the importance of inner strength and peace amidst their demanding roles.
The program of events culminated on 31October 2024 with a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour, followed by a group photograph, a troop address and All-Ranks Tea. In accordance with the military traditions, the Commander Security Forces (East) was warmly welcomed, and accorded with a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of 7 SLE. This was followed by a group photograph and planting of a sapling, symbolically remembering the 21st Anniversary.
During the troop address Commander of Security Forces (East), praised the troops for their dedication, professionalism, and contribution to the Security Forces (East) success and underscored the importance of unity, discipline, and service, qualities that have been at the core of the Security Forces (East) legacy.
Afterwards the Security Forces Commander joined the troops for an All-Ranks Tea, symbolizing the close bonds within the SFHQ (East) and fostering a sense of camaraderie among Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Civilians.
