SECURITY FORCES (EAST) INITIATED TO PROMOTE ORGANIC FERTILIZER AMONGST FARMERS IN THE EASTERN THEATRE
Security Forces Headquarters (East),under the direction of Major General Lal Perera, The Commander, Security Forces (East) initiated a program to promote use of Organic fertilizer amongst farmers in the Eastern Theatre with the assistance of Agriculture Department. Initially a function was held at Ganthalawa Kanthale for farmers in Ampara ,Batticoloa ,Trincomalee and Polonnaruwa Districts to educate the successes of the "Usage of Organic fertilizer" with demonstrations and Expert Comments on 23rd August 2013 with the assistance of the Agriculture Department , Eastern Province and Directorate of Agriculture, Sri Lanka Army. Sri Lanka Army provided Transport, Refreshments and Meals for all participants .Several Military and Civil dignitaries attend the function.
