The diploma in Sinhala language certificate awarding ceremonyorganized by the Civil Citizen Council of Batticaloa was held at National School of Oddamavadion 26th May 2024.
Total of 150 students, who successfully completed the course, were awarded the Certificate of Diploma in Sinhala Language. Another 220 students, who are still following the course were giventextbooks as an additional resourceto complete their Diploma.
Major General S AKulatungeRWP RSP VSV USP psc the Commander Security Forces (East) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. During his address, Commander Security Forces (East)emphasised the importance of developing language skills for an effective reconciliation among different communities in the country. Furthermore, he appreciated the untiring efforts of the Civil Citizen Council of Batticaloafor arranging such an important course as it was the need of the hour.
Few cultural dances and speeches conducted in Sinhala added glamour to the event. It was a testimony for theextraordinary development in Sinhala language skills by these students.It also highlighted the extraordinary achievement of Mr. H M Anver who was the main instructor of this course.
