Security Forces – East Marks World Children’s Day at Lumbini Primary School, Welikanda

To commemorate World Children’s Day, a special programme was organized by the Security Forces Headquarters – East on 03 October 2025 at Lumbini Primary School, Welikanda.

As part of the event, new clothing was distributed to 201 students, while sports equipment was donated to the school to promote physical well-being and encourage active participation in sports. In recognition of academic excellence, two scholarships were awarded to students who excelled in the Grade Five Scholarship Examination.

The event was graced by the Commander, Security Forces – East and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard, Major General JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, along with the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Sri Lanka National Guard. Their presence underscored the Sri Lanka Army’s steadfast commitment to the welfare, education, and future development of children, particularly in rural communities.

This initiative reflects the continuing efforts of the Security Forces to support community welfare and empower the younger generation through education and social responsibility.
