SECURITY FORCE (EAST) PLANTS 100,000 TREES IN ONE DAY

The Security Force Headquarters (East) launched a tree planting programme as one more phase of the ‘Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak’ project, introduced by the Commander of the Army in order to increase national forest cover and beautify the country. This programme was conducted covering 22, 23, 24 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (East) on Friday (13) with the guidance of the Commander Security Force (East).

The project was driven by the Commander Security Force (East) with the participation of Generals Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Officers, Civil authorities and a representative gathering of all ranks. Troops took part in the projects adhering to the health guidelines for COVID 19 Pandemic.

This event was whole heartedly supported by the officials of Forest Department, by providing suitable land areas and more than 100,000 plants indigenous to the area. Accordingly 22, 23, 24 Division and Forward Maintenance Area (East) planted 22,000, 27,400, 27,193 and 25,000 plants respectively.
