On the concept and guidance of Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces - East, organized a "Rice Dansala" in Walikanda town by the Security Force Headquarters - East troops on Lord Buddha's memorial Vesak Poya day (05 May).
Simultaneous to the "Rice Dansala" show offed the two marvelous rotating Vesak lanterns created by troops of 3 Corps of Engineering Service and technical section students of Walikanda Maha Vidyalaya. Above 3000 civilians of the Walikanda, Monarathanna, Sinhapura, Manampitiya, and Bowaththa areas took place for the "Rice Dansala" with their devotion.
Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces - East inaugurates the rotating Vesak lantern and "Rice Dansala" after religious rituals. All staff officers and other ranks of the Security Force Headquarters - East, Logistic battalions under commands to Forward Maintains Area - East were hands together to successfully the event.
