A RESCUE OPERATION WAS CONDUCTED BY THE 7 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT TO SAVE A GROUP OF CIVILIANS AFFECTED BY FLOODING.

Due to heavy rainfall, a severe flood situation was reported in the General Area Polonnaruwa, particularly in the Polonnaruwa Public Ground area and Puddur villages, which fall under the SFHQ (E) region. As a result, several villagers were affected by the rising floodwaters. Accordingly, a team of 01 × 03 troops from the Boat Team was deployed on 28 November 2025 to rescue the affected Many civilians.

All rescued individuals were safely directed to designated safe locations, and no additional damages have been reported. The troops remain prepared to provide further assistance as required, based on emerging needs and instructions.
