Due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, the bund of the Periyavaduvan Sinnathuraichenai Tank was breached on 17 December 2025. Accordingly, on the instructions of the Commander, 232 Infantry Brigade, and under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, troops of 3 × 15 from the 12th Battalion, Sri Lanka National Guard, along with 10 civilians, were deployed on 20 December 2025 to carry out restoration of the damaged tank bund using sandbags. .
