PUBLIC EXPOSITION OF SACRED RELICS AT POLONNARUWA GAL VIHARAYA

In commemorating the arrival of Buddhism to Sri Lanka on Poson Full Moon Poya Day, the Security Force Headquarters (East) joined hands in organizing the meritorious public exposition of sacred relics at the Historic Gal Viharaya, with the blessings of Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayaka and under the guidance of Commander Security Force (East), Major General Santhusitha Pananwala and the Commander Forward Maintenance Area (East) Major General Manoj Mudannayaka.

The sacred relics of the Buddha and Maha Arahaths arrived from the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre, Kandy was opened for the worship of devotees at the 'Sri Sakya Singha Suganda Kutiya' enshrined at Gal Vihara premises on Poson Full Moon Day ( 27 June 2018 ) by HE the President Maithripala Sirisena.
