PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE REPAIR WORK OF THE TEMPLE.

The Sri Vijayarama Temple is the only Buddhist temple in the Akkarapattuwa area of the Ampara district, a region home to many ethnic groups. The pagoda and bell tower of this temple had not been renovated for a long time. In response to a request from the incumbent and under the instructions of Commander of the 241 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP, troops of the 241 Infantry Brigade carry out the renovation project. Mr. AIA Rangana, a lecturer at the Sri Lanka Institute of Vocational and Tertiary Education in Kadawatha, provided financial support for the renovation. Reverend Suriyawewa Gunananda Thero, the incumbent of Ambalangoda Gangarama Temple, coordinated the project. The entire event was successfully completed under the close coordination and supervision of the Civil Affairs Officer of the 241 Infantry Brigade, Major JCK Subhasinghe SLACL.
