PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO FACILITATE FOR POVERTY STRICKEN FAMILIES IN BATTICALOA DISTRICT

Troops of 4 Gamunu Watch and 11 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment organized a programme to distribute 500 Chicks among 25 needy families in Kiran, Sittandy, Unnachchai and Vellavali areas in Batticaloa district, under the guidance of Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Vijitha Hettiarchchi on Saturday (26).

The programme was conducted to enhance the livelihood of some selected poor families in the area with the sponsorship of generous donors, Mr. G S Yoganath (YRS Construction)and Mr. Milro Senevirathna (Protect Property Holdings Private Limited).

Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Vijitha Hettiarchchi joined with the programme after visiting doorsteps of those recipients.
