PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO BEACH CLEANING PROGRAM AT COSTAL BELT AT SOUTH EASTERN UNIVERSITY TO CONSERVE THE COASTAL ENVIRONMENT

Coastal area of Oluvil was highly polluted due to the discarded wrappers, plastic bottles, empty beer cans and wasted polythene and it is caused to pollute the beautiful of Oluvil coastal belt.

To avoid and control the prevailing situation in this coastal area under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division Brigadier W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc and the direction of the Commander 241 Infantry Brigade Colonel LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP the 11thBattalion Sri Lanka National Guard has assist to beach cleaning program at the Oluvil beach area which was organized by the South Eastern University and District Secretariat Ampara.

Moreover for this program Commander 241 Infantry Brigade Colonel LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP, Commanding Officer 11thBattalion Sri Lanka National Guard Major H C P Hettiarachchi , tps of 11thBattalion Sri Lanka National Guard, Additional District Secretary -Ampara, Divisional Secretary – Addalachchena, tps of Oluvil Navy Camp, tps of Oluvil Coast Guard Station, Lecturers and students of Southeastern University, police officers at Akkarapattu police station, Officers of Disaster Management Center were participated.
