SF HQ (E) celebrates Poson Poya Day, marking the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka in the 3rd Century BC by Arahat Mihindu which made Sri Lanka the stronghold of Theravada Buddhism. In line with this great day of historical and religious significance, a series of religious activities were organized with the guidance of the Comd SF (E) Maj Gen Nandana Senadeera WWV RWP RSP USP ndu.\r\nCommencing the celebrations, the Chief Incumbent of Bogambara Sri Bodhimaluwa Viharaya Kandy, Sri Sudarshanaramaya Dodamgasdeniya, Sri Punyaramaya Anuradhapura, Rajakeeya Panditha Shasthrapathi Gallalle Soratha Thero conducted a Dhadmadeshana on application of Buddhism to our practical lives and a Pirith Chanting Programme where the Officers and Other Ranks serving in the SF (E) AOR were in attendance. \r\nThe troops of the headquarters shared the Buddhist virtue of generosity by organizing a “ Bath Dansala ” for the benefit of thousands of devotees and poor families in the area. The Dansela was organized as a gesture of goodwill under the guidance of Comd SF (E).\r\n
