On 22 June 2024 concerning the Poson Pohoya, the Akkareipattu Sri VijayaramaViharaya organized a Mihindu Perahera for the secant time on a grand scale. To treat 1200 personnel comprising the cultural dancing team and the procession (Perahera) organizing committee the Dansal program providing buns, bananas, and cool drinks was an initiative overseen by Brigadier LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP Commander 241 Infantry Brigade and with the supervision of Major JCK Subasingha SLACAL, the Civil Affairs Officer of the brigade. Funding for the event was generously provided by Mr. A Abdul Salam, Chairman of the Trade Association Akkaraipattu.
