According to the request of Aralaganvila Vajira Dammadeepa nun, the guidance of Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces - East, erected the nun monastery by the troops of 12 Battalion Gamunu Watch, 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Signal Corps and Garrison Engineers - Walikanda. During a simple ceremony on Saturday (06 May) newly constructed nun monastery handed over to Aralaganvila Vajira Dammadeepa nun in the presence of Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander Security Forces – East and Mr. Ashoka palansooriya, Chairmen of Manampitiya Motors.
The provided work force for the construction work under the close supervision of Major Lalantha Ranasinghe and Major Asanka Kodikara, the Commanding Officers of 12 Battalion Gamunu Watch and 2 Battalion Sri Lanka Signal Corps.This was made possible with the generosity extended by Mr. Ashoka Palansooriya, Chairmen of Manampitiya Motors.
Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander, Security Forces - East took place as a chief guest of the event and Mr. Ashoka Palansooriya, Colonel Prabhath Halpage, Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs, Security Force Headquarters - East, Commanding Officers with officers and other ranks of the battalions were also present at the event.
