NEWLY APPOINTED GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 23 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS THE 232 INFANTRY BRIGADE ON 06 MAY 2023

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division, Major General WP Kariyawasam, made a visit to the HQ, 232 Infantry Brigade on 06 May 2024.

Upon arrival of the GOC 23 Infantry Division, he was warmly welcomed by the Comd 232 Infantry Brigade, Brig RPS Prasad RWP RSP USP. The 12 SLNG tps presented a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and the visit was symbolized by planting a mango sapling.Then GOC addressed the troops of 232 Infantry Brigade and the UC bns, followed by all ranks tea at the NCOs club.

At the end of the official visit to HQ 232 Infantry Brigade, he further, visited “Thoppigala Heritage Park’’ and paid tribute to the fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives during the Eastern Humanitarian operation & made his departure to visit the HQ of 12 SLNG at Periyawadduwan & HQ of 4 GW at Unnachchi.

The official visit comprised the participation of Col GS of 23 Infantry Division, Col WGIS Gamage USP ,SSO of the 232 Infantry Brigade Lt Col MCV Gomes SLAC, CO 4 GW, CO 12 SLNG & senior officers, officers of the 232 Infantry Brigade &under command bns.
